This week the new issue of ‘Making Games’ hit the stands. It contains my final ‘house’ workshop showing a tutorial how to make the right texture for the 3d-house.

I am very excited right now because hopefully this is a moment I will look back in some years and will see it as the official beginning of a successful creator owned comic series. I had some concept sketches from the series posted before but the one you will see by clicking the banner or the link ‘MAYA – promo‘ is different because it is the first official art to the miniseries.
Of course I can’t get into details yet but as you can see in the promo image there will be a lot of ‘fun’. The image shows the main character ‘Maya’ and her best friend.

I will start drawing the series right after I have finished the Ray Harryhausen books. I’m very interested in what you think of this first look and the art and characters. I really would appreciate your comments and mails.

Even without enough time I couldn’t resist to enter the new CGSociety art challenge. The motto of the challenge is ‘Steampunk – Myths and Legends’. Awesome isn’t it!? I’m very excited to see all the entries of other artists from around the world. The idea of the thread over at CGTalk is to show the ‘making of’ of the final artwork image.
