I have finished the first sequential pages of issue #1 and sent out the pitch. I will continue working on the sequentials in my spare time. Because I can’t show any of the artwork from the book yet I will try to do some more concept art in between. By clicking on the image header above you will get to my conceptart.org MAYA thread where I am posting all MakingOf related artwork and news. I have finished the story for the first story arc (three issues) and as you know I am doing all the art myself. The lettering however will be done by a professional letterer because I don’t want to spend too much time with Illustrator and lettering. A seasoned lettering professional will do the lettering and I will concentrate on the art and story 100%. The series will not be published by Bluewater Productions. I already had a ‘GO’ from the company because I have worked on two Ray Harryhausen Presents books, pitch art, concept designs and covers for Bluewater. But with all the political and biographical books they are doing right now Bluewater is not the right place for MAYA. I want MAYA to be published beside some of my favorite books .
